Our country was founded on the principle that all individuals are equal under the law. The Constitution guarantees due process to every person in the United States. The Bill of Rights prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, requires probable cause before detaining people, and protects our freedoms to assemble, speak freely, maintain a free and independent press, and practice the religion of our choice.

These aren’t abstract ideals—they’re the foundation of American democracy.

American values mean treating everyone fairly, regardless of whether those in power agree with them. When the government must take action against anyone, it must comply with the law of the land and treat them humanely. (See Immigration policy)

ALL People regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity deserve equal rights under the Constitution. LGBTQ+ individuals, religious minorities, and people of color should not face government interference in their personal lives or systematic discrimination simply because of who they are.

Yet today, we’re witnessing alarming violations of these fundamental principles:

• American citizens are being wrongfully detained without probable cause
• The press is being threatened and intimidated for reporting facts the administration dislikes
• Peaceful protesters are being labeled as threats to national security
• Military forces are being deployed domestically without state requests
• Families are being separated during deportation proceedings without due process
• Dissenters and critics face retaliation from their own government
• LGBTQ+ Americans and marginalized communities face government-sanctioned discrimination—threats to marriage equality, healthcare access, military service, and basic legal protections

This is not who we are. This is not what America stands for.

Max Miller has remained silent while these abuses occur. He has not held town halls to hear constituents’ concerns about civil liberties. He has not used his Congressional authority to provide oversight. He has not stood up to protect the constitutional rights of the people he represents. His silence is complicity.

The way we treat those who are different from us or those in need speaks volumes about who we are and what our values truly are.

When I represent you in Congress, I will fight for proper Congressional oversight, respect the separation of powers, and champion policies that protect everyone’s constitutional rights:

• Restore robust Congressional oversight—the legislative branch must be a check on executive overreach, not a rubber stamp
• Require probable cause to question or detain anyone—no American should fear government overreach based on appearance, language, or political views
• End government censorship and intimidation of the press—a free press is essential to democracy, not an enemy of it
• Defend the independence of the judiciary—courts must be free from political pressure and intimidation
• Protect LGBTQ+ Americans

• Prohibit retaliation against people for peacefully expressing their ideas—dissent is patriotic, not treasonous
• Protect and encourage Americans’ right to peacefully demonstrate—our founders created this country through protest and dissent
• Limit military deployment on U.S. soil to situations where state and local authorities request assistance—the military is not a domestic police force
• Prevent unnecessary civilian casualties during military conflicts—all military action must be authorized by Congress and comply with international humanitarian law
• Protective and Codify Reproductive Rights – I strongly oppose the Dobbs decision and will make it a top priority to fight for a bill that codifies reproductive freedom at the federal level. Women’s healthcare decisions belong to women and their doctors, not politicians. I approach this issue with humility, recognizing that these are often incredibly difficult decisions that women face, and they deserve the freedom to make the choice that’s right for them and their families without government interference. No politician has the right, or frankly the experience, to weigh in on medical decisions for women.

Only by enforcing our Constitutional rights are we safe from government abuses. People should be treated with empathy and compassion. Showing these qualities is not weakness—it is strength. It is what separates democracies from authoritarian regimes. It is what makes America exceptional.

Our rights are not granted by politicians—they are guaranteed by our Constitution. But those guarantees are only as strong as the representatives willing to defend them. I will be A Voice for All, standing up for every person’s constitutional rights, regardless of their politics, background, or beliefs.

These are not Democrat or Republican ideas—they are American ideas. This is what real patriotism looks like.
