To live the American Dream, people must have opportunities in two critical areas: good-paying jobs and affordable housing. Both have been neglected by Washington, and the working class is suffering as a result.

Tariffs are breaking the backs of small businesses and farmers alike. They’re driving up the cost of living for everyone (see Economy policy). The relentless attacks on collective bargaining and unions lead to lower wages, fewer benefits, and less safe working conditions. Workers are losing power while corporations gain more.

Student loan debt is crushing college graduates and delaying or preventing them from becoming first-time homebuyers. The average age of first-time homebuyers has climbed to almost 39 years old—nearly a decade later than previous generations. Last year saw one of the worst job markets for new college graduates in years, as technology changes and AI displacement make it even harder for young people to get started.

The fiscal policies of the current administration are adding trillions of dollars to our national debt, keeping interest rates artificially high and making mortgages unaffordable. These policies are designed to benefit multi-millionaires and billionaires while burdening everyone else. (unbold, new paragraph, bold below)

Max Miller was the deciding vote for the budget that cut your healthcare and raised your costs to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. He had the power to demand better for Ohio families—instead, he chose party loyalty.

Housing has become unaffordable for working families. High mortgage rates, soaring home prices, and limited inventory mean the dream of homeownership is slipping away for millions. Meanwhile, predatory corporate investors are buying up homes and driving up rents, pricing out families who just want a stable place to live.

You deserve a representative who is in touch with your problems and works to find solutions—not one who lacks the and has the courage and vision to stand up for you. Real prosperity comes when workers and businesses partner together. When workers earn fair wages and have safe conditions, they’re more productive, businesses retain talent, and entire communities benefit. This isn’t zero-sum—we all rise together.

When I represent you in Congress, I will put working families first and fight for policies that:

• Restore Congressional oversight of tariffs to ensure they’re only used for legitimate purposes, not as political weapons that raise your costs.

• Make college and trade schools more affordable so young people aren’t strapped with crushing debt before they even start their careers.

• Provide specialized training and support for workers displaced by AI and technological change, and prepare the next generation for the jobs of tomorrow.

• Increase the supply of affordable housing through incentives for builders, restrictions on corporate bulk-buying, and support for first-time homebuyers.

• Protect and restore collective bargaining rights that keep workers safe, ensure fair wages, and give employees equal bargaining power with employers.

• Guarantee affordable healthcare options for everyone I represent, because medical debt shouldn’t derail the American Dream (see Healthcare policy).

• Support small businesses and entrepreneurs with access to capital, reduced regulatory burdens, and fair tax treatment.

• Invest in apprenticeship programs that provide pathways to good-paying jobs in skilled trades.

• Stand up for science and federal research funding that creates high-paying jobs, drives innovation, and stimulates economic growth in emerging industries.

By improving the underlying conditions and creating real opportunities for the hard-working people of our district, we can strengthen our economy and improve quality of life for everyone. This isn’t complicated—it’s about priorities. Do we invest in working families, or do we keep giving tax cuts to billionaires?
